'Member South Park Campaign

A fictional advertising campaign for South Park's 27th Season release, including print media, digital assets, and IRL event leading up to the release of S27, E1.

Year :

2025

Industry :

Television Advertising

Project Duration :

4 Weeks

Project Brief:

My 2025 Brand Experiences in Interactive Environments final project tasked me with creating a nine-week advertising campaign to promote a new season of a chosen TV show. The requirements included creating at least seven different touch points, including print media, merchandising, and an IRL event to understand the importance of multi-channel advertising.

Solution:

The show I chose to promote was South Park, creating an idealized timeline beginning in early August and leading up to the Season 28 premiere in late September. The campaign, titled “‘Member South Park?” focused on the iconic memberberries from the show, a constant that would carry itself through the entire campaign.

I worked on several different deliverables throughout the project, including a social media takeover, memberberry merchandise, billboards, posters, and interactive quizzes for the fans. The campaign would come to a close with an IRL Chile-Con-Carnival event, and the premiere of Season 28 at the end of week nine.

Challenges:

The most challenging aspect of this campaign was navigating multiple channels, such as print and digital, while still staying consistent with my messaging and style. Since the project required at least 7 different and unique touchpoints, I had to find a way to ensure everything was still related while still keeping each touchpoint fresh and original.

The logistical side and planning side (trying to figure out when each deliverable should be released, how they interact) was also surprisingly tough, as everything needed to be intentional - no part of the campaign could be overlooked!

Summary:

The "'Member South Park?" advertising campaign was the first college project that truly required me to think about longevity in advertising, and how to keep things fresh over a long time period. It also refined my voiceover abilities, and how to summarize my own project in a limited timeslot. Creating the project was not only fun, but also informative.
