ECHO USA Internship Work

A collection of work done for ECHO USA completed during my 2024 and 2025 internships with the company, including digital assets, print media, and advertisements for external use.

Year :

2024-2025

Industry :

Outdoor and Industrial Power Equipment

Client :

ECHO USA

Project Duration :

20+ Weeks

Project Brief:

During the summer of 2024, I worked as a graphic design intern for ECHO USA, an outdoor/industrial power equipment company based in Lake Zurich, Illinois. While there, I worked alongside a small group of designers and was tasked with several different projects for both internal and external usage. These projects included banners for company events, photo manipulation for professional application, print advertisements, and YouTube thumbnail templates for ECHO’s sister company Shindaiwa.

In 2025, I was asked to come back and gladly accepted, working on a broader range of projects in my second year with many familiar faces, and with some new ones as well. The projects included developing online assets for The Home Depot’s website, ECHO branded merchandise such as socks and shirts, large scale banners for internal events, and publication design for their 2026 Quick Reference Manual.

Challenges:

There were several challenges I faced and overcame during my time as an intern, the most difficult being the shift in perspective: in my college classes, I created brands from scratch and brand guidelines were somewhat flexible to me in that case, but since ECHO is an established company with their own guidelines, learning to follow exact design rules was a change of pace.

I was able to adapt, and by the second year I had a solid understanding of the company's branding and overall voice, supported by the creatives around me.

Summary:

Working with the team at ECHO for two years was a great experience, and one I look back on fondly. The variety of projects I worked on not only helped me grow as a designer, but also allowed for many opportunities to work directly with the creative team to create the best work I could.
